If we had the mid-year rotation, then Hall, Nat Young, and Willian Cordoso would be looking solid with Brian Toth and Nate Yoemans on the edge. Interesting. Anyways, there is a long road to go and the top 3 mentioned are in a good spot if they can keep it going. It always seems by the time Europe rolls around, that things shift drastically.

He'll be better off riding out his Prime win with some magazine visits in the US and capitalizing on his increased profile honestly. He's right, Prime results are the key.

Why anyone goofy or not would prefer going to California early as opposed to the next nearest contest in J-FREAKING-BAY is beyond me?

Micro says “I’m not doing JBay (6 Star) and I’m proud of my choice. I came here and put all eggs into one basket because if you are here to qualify its about the Primes. That’s my focus so I’m taking it to the next event in America.”
Hmmm, there are ALOT of points up for grabs at JBay, and sufficient time between prime events....

I met Glenn Hall once.
We were watching the Quiksilver pro one day a while back when they had a day at Dbah, and he came and sat down next to us waiting for the last heat of the day to finish before he paddled out on the comp bank.

He was a really friendly and chatty guy, humble as. I didn't even know who he was at the time and he didn't act like a pro. Wasn't till he trotted off my mate did the "you know who that was don't ya"

Ever since then I've kept an eye on his career and he's come painfully close to qualifying, just missing out by one or two places a couple of times.
To me he's one of those battlers that may not be as talented as the young new school up and comers. But he's been slugging away paying his dues and getting soo close now for so long you wanna see him qualifiy and just have his one shot at the bigtime.

he is fundamentally very good but would NOT re-qualify if he ever made it on tour. the WT surfers are in another caliber with flow and innovation. micro got extremely lucky at lowers in my opinion.

I never seem to put him on because he is normally a red or blue and there are others who are more trick orientated. The guy is tenacious though. Reminds me of Mitch Crews (not his surfing-more for his drive). He's a fiesty person that is for sure.

i pick him on a regular basis. he rarely gets put out in the early rounds. if he made it to the big show, i would have him on my team. he might do me better on FS than some of the other low cost surfers out there.

Could he ever make the big show?

His 17.23 in the rd. of 48 was impressive.

Chances? Thoughts?
